System Administrator (Server Provisioning / SW deployment)

The Job

As System Administrator you will be part of the Central IT Services department which main work areas are:

• 2. Level support of server HW (HP), OS (Windows Server 2003 and 2008R2) and certain applications.
• Server installation, involving HW installation, OS deployment with SCCM and coordination tasks required to provision the server.
• SW Deployment on production servers

We currently need a person to help with Server installation and SW deployment, so the primary tasks will be:

• Assembly and installation of server hardware in data centers
• Hardware Incident handling
• Deployment of virtual servers on the Microsoft Hyper-V platform using Virtual Machine Manager
• Handling of documentation for servers
• Management of images in Microsoft SCCM
• Deployment of software developed in-house to servers as specified in Change Requests. This is done either through SCCM or manually.

You will participate in projects related to new technologies:

• New windows server versions
• Virtualization of existing servers to the Microsoft Hyper-V platform
• Automation of tasks (usually through scripting)

Your profile

The person we are looking for:

• Has a relevant IT education or have several years of experience
• Is a person who is able to work independently as well as part of a highly-qualified team
• Sets high standards for himself and takes great pride in his work
• Is service-minded and possesses good analytic and troubleshooting skills
• Has knowledge about several of the following tools or areas:
• Windows Server 2003/2008R2 deployment
• Microsoft SCCM
• HP Server hardware and drivers
• HP Systems Inside Manager
• Microsoft Hyper-V
• Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager
• Backup tools and processes
• Update documentation
• Usage of ITIL Processes
• Possesses good verbal and written English skills, since we are an international organisation in which people of many nationalities are working.
